Thoughts on Canvas Art Festival 2025 is bigger, better and grander than ever before; the theme of the event this year is “Nayi Peedi, Nayi Soch” – art celebrating the beauty, diversity, culture, aspirations of the youth of India.
The festival will see participation from over 500+ child artists from across the country and abroad and will include an exhibition of 250+ eclectic pieces of art for these artists.
The event is curated by Thoughts on Canvas, India’s leading online school for art and early design. The institute is focused on building a culture of Early Design in children so that they can fulfil their ambitions of being anything they want – an architect, a fashion designer, an engineer or an interior or jewellery designer – whatever their heart desires.
Main highlight of event would be an auction of upto 20 selected artworks, this would be first time auction of budding student designers and artists in professional Sotheby’s and IPL style auction.
The event is going to be held at Apparel House, Sector 44, Gurugram Haryana on April 19th, 2025, Saturday 11am onwards.
Previous year events have been held at prestigious locations such as India International Centre and Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi.
Previous events have been presided over by illustrious individuals such as Ram Niwas Goel (former Delhi Speaker), Somnath Bharti(Malviya Nagar MLA and former Delhi Minister), Karan Mehra (TV, Film and Bib Boss artist). Other dignitaries have including Ajay Dutt (MLA, Ambedkar Nagar), Ashok Bhowmick (eminent artist), Pankaj Kr Singh (senior AAP leader), Manish Trehan (Senior Journalist), Neeraj Sharma and Neeraj Mittra (renowned graphic artists).
About Thoughts on Canvas and its Founder Garima Govil
Garima started the venture from her drawing room 15 years ago, taking hobby art classes for Gurgaon children. She built a loyal base of students who would swear by her ability to “teach anyone to draw” using block techniques, fashion design principles and color theory.
Her hobby classes started to take the form of a school very soon, with students from all age groups from as little as 6 years old to adults who look at art as therapy.
In late 2019 off the back of COVID pandemic the institute rapidly expanded to being an all-virtual school with a national and global presence.
Today the school has a student roster of over 5000+ students across US, Canada, Singapore, Dubai, Australia and nearly every major city in India from Vadodara to Srinagar.
Garima is from 2003 batch of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Delhi and 2005 International Academy of Design Toronto.
Thoughts on Canvas is committed to nurturing children from all backgrounds; with that endeavor in mind the school works closely with NGOs, in holding workshops and classes for various underprivileged student communities. Thoughts on Canvas also provides free art supplies for many students enrolled in the institute.
Thoughts on Canvas prides itself in being the only platform giving children under 18 years of age across India an opportunity to showcase their art skills on a national scale. Students can turn art into a profession and excel in design profession, all they need is training them with the right principles and elements.
