Inspired by the power and potential of youth across BRICS nations, BRICS CCI successfully concluded the BRICS CCI Youth Summit 2.0 – Leadership Dialogue on August 12, 2024. The day-long event marked the culmination of a transformative 12-day journey that engaged dynamic young leaders from across BRICS nations and beyond in a series of impactful discussions and activities. The summit featured distinguished leaders from bureaucracy, diplomacy, and government, enriching the dialogue with their insights and experiences.
The final day of the summit was marked by a series of inspiring addresses and interactive sessions that showcased the summit’s vision and the significant contributions of its participants. The keynote address by H.E. Mr. Denis Alipov, Ambassador of Russia to India, was a highlight of the day. Mr. Alipov shared his perspectives on international relations and the role of young leaders in fostering global cooperation. “The year 2024 in Russia-India relations is of important engagements. Our multifaceted cooperation is beneficial for the interests of our two proud nations and our relations are indispensable for the world and help create a favorable environment for other countries to grow and prosper.,” Mr. Alipov emphasized.
Interactive sessions provided participants with opportunities to engage with the speakers, ask questions, and delve deeper into key issues. These sessions facilitated meaningful dialogue and enhanced the understanding of leadership dynamics.
The day concluded with a keynote address by Mr. WANG Lei, Minister of the Chinese Embassy in India. Mr. WANG Lei shared perspectives on China’s approach to international cooperation and the role of youth in global development. “Young people represent hope and shape the future. I hope all the participants work towards strengthening India-China relations and fostering shared prosperity between our nations.,” Mr. WANG Lei remarked.
Dr. Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, a former Cabinet Minister of Punjab and National Executive of BJP, delivered a special address. Dr. Sodhi provided valuable insights into leadership and governance, motivating the youth to actively engage in nation-building. “This programme is more than just a series of events, it is an opportunity for each one of you to step into the corridors of power, to engage with these distinguished individuals who shape our world and whose decisions impact millions. ,” he said.
Dr. Ashok Tanwar, former Member of Parliament and member of the BJP, delivered the special address. Dr. Tanwar reflected on the summit’s impact and encouraged participants to continue their journey as leaders. “If we fulfill our responsibilities for the country with full honesty, then we can take this country to new heights, no matter in what field it is.”, he advised.
Mr. Ashok Kumar Singh, Vice Chairman of BRICS CCI, followed with an engaging introductory address. He spoke about the summit’s objectives and BRICS CCI’s commitment to supporting young leaders. “Our vision is to empower young minds to take on leadership roles and drive global progress. This summit is a testament to our belief in your capabilities and the importance of cross-cultural exchanges in developing future leaders,” Mr. Singh remarked.
Special remarks were delivered by Mr. Sameep Shastri, Vice Chairman of BRICS CCI and President of the BRICS CCI Young Leaders Vertical. His address was a celebration of the participants’ achievements and an encouragement for their future endeavors. “The future belongs to those who believe in their dreams and work relentlessly to achieve them. Each of you has shown exceptional promise, and I urge you to continue harnessing your potential to make a difference,” Mr. Shastri stated.
Dr. BBL Madhukar, Director General of BRICS CCI, delivered a warm welcome address, setting the tone for the day. He reflected on the summit’s achievements and emphasized the crucial role of youth in shaping a better future. Dr. Madhukar stated, “The potential of our youth is boundless, and this summit has provided a platform to unlock that potential. It is through your dedication and vision that we will navigate the challenges of tomorrow.”
On the finale, participants were honored with certificates recognizing their active participation throughout the program. In addition, three outstanding individuals were awarded prizes for their exceptional contributions in the contests organized as part of the initiative. The competitions included insightful daily quizzes that tested their knowledge and quick thinking, an impressive reel-making competition that showcased their innovative spirit, and remarkable initiatives and conduct that demonstrated their leadership and commitment.
