“I’ve always been drawn to stories, the kind that stay with you, that make you feel seen,” says Desai. “When I started working on N21™, I wanted every product to carry that same personal touch, and which is why the brand’s name is coined after my initial and birthdate.”

Beauty That Feels, Not Just Looks

At its core, N21™ is built on the philosophy that beauty is a form of self-expression and self-love. Its collections are conceptualized like chapters in a book- cohesive, emotional, and intentional. The brand’s debut range of three distinct collections explores the connection between mood, memory, and individuality.

From product textures and design to the thoughtful colour palette, everything at N21™ evokes a quiet sophistication. The brand’s creative direction, is infused with Desai’s background in writing and television and ensures that every element feels like part of a larger narrative.

“Beauty products, to me, are storytelling in colour,” Desai explains. “It’s the language of how we feel, and that changes every day.”

Sustainability Meets Sentiment

N21™’s product philosophy extends beyond aesthetics. The brand’s Coconut Powder Pigment Beauty Sponge, its first-ever product, is a standout example of how emotional design meets conscious formulation. The neon green packaging was intentionally chosen to symbolize energy and creativity, followed by other vibrant hues across its product line.

The sponges, available in Coconut, Sugarcane, and Barley pigment variants, aim to reduce chemical dyes and pigments. Each sponge is latex-free, fragrance-free, and designed to minimize product wastage through its dense, absorbent texture combining performance with purpose.

“Emotional Minimalism” in Motion

Consumers have quickly resonated with what many describe as “emotional minimalism”, a phrase that perfectly captures N21™’s balance of warmth and restraint.
